Decisions, decisions, decisions ... so many to make! And all of them are important, considering that they all have to do with one of the most important days of your life! Some decisions may seem more crucial than others – which DJ to have at your reception may not seem as important as your reception location or your dress – but read what previous Brides thought about their entertainment after their reception:
- 72% of all brides say they would have spent more time choosing their reception entertainment.
- Almost 100% say they would have spent more of their budget on the entertainment.
- During wedding planning, Brides say their highest priority is their attire, followed by the reception site and caterer - reception entertainment is among the least of their priorities. Within one week after their reception, 78% of Brides say they would have made the entertainment their highest priority!
- When asked, 81% of guests say the thing they remember most about a wedding is the entertainment.
- 65% of all couples that chose a band to entertain at their wedding, said, if they had it to do over again, they would have chosen a disc jockey

Trying to decide between a band or DJ? Let's take a look...
BAND
Non studio quality music
Main focus is to perform music
Average band only plays 100-150 songs
Plays songs in sets, usually 45 minutes, then a 30 minute break
Pause between each song (uneven flow)
Prices around $950.00 and up

DISC JOCKEY
Studio quality music
(like you hear on the radio)
Music is pre-recorded
main focus is to entertain your guests and get them involved
Average DJ has thousands of songs to choose from
Plays nonstop, NO BREAKS!
Continuous play (very even flow)
Professional DJ's start around $600.00-$700.00 |
Simply put, DJ's play better quality of music, which is already produced
by the original artist and not by a band trying to imitate it. A DJ's
focus is on entertaining your guests so they'll have a better time. The
music library of a DJ is much larger, providing you with a better selection
of music. The biggest difference is price - A DJ will cost hundreds less
than a band!
